CHURCH LEADERSHIP
Dr. TYE McCLAIN | Senior Pastor
Pastor Tye McClain is a living testimony of God’s redemptive power. Raised in the Lutheran faith, Tye turned away from God in pursuit of worldly pleasures, leading to years marked by addiction, brokenness, and rebellion. But on January 28, 1993, a divine encounter changed everything. That night, God called him out of darkness and into new life. From that moment on, Tye surrendered everything—his past, his pain, and his future—to Jesus Christ. His life was radically transformed, and he has since dedicated himself to sharing the soul-saving message of grace, forgiveness, and freedom.
Today, Pastor Tye leads Orangewood Avenue Baptist Church with authenticity, passion, and a heart for the brokenhearted. He holds an Associate’s Degree, a Bachelor’s Degree, a Master of Divinity from Gateway Seminary, and a Doctorate of Biblical Studies from California Bible College and Seminary. He serves alongside his wife, Anne McClain, who is the church’s Director of Worship, and they are proud parents to their daughter, JayLee. Grounded in Isaiah 61:1–3, Pastor Tye’s mission is clear: to preach good news, bind up the brokenhearted, and proclaim freedom to all who are held captive—just as God once did for him.
Mrs. ANNE McCLAIN | Worship Leader
Ann McClain is a devoted servant of Jesus Christ whose life reflects a deep love for God and His people. From a young age, Ann cultivated a passion for worship and ministry, and over the years she has faithfully poured that passion into the church.
Today, she serves Orangewood Avenue Baptist Church as both Director of Worship and Director of Children’s Ministry, leading with creativity, compassion, and a genuine heart for outreach. Her ministry extends beyond Sunday services—Ann is a primary outreach minister for both Orangewood and the surrounding community, helping to bridge the church to those in need of hope and belonging. She holds a Master of Divinity from Gateway Seminary and was honored as Christian Artist of the Year in 2014. Whether through music, children’s discipleship, or community outreach, Ann’s calling is clear: to glorify God, nurture the next generation, and create spaces where people can encounter the transforming presence of Jesus Christ.
MISS JAYLEE McCLAIN | Youth Director
JayLee McClain carries a powerful calling to share Jesus with the teenage generation. As the Director of Youth at Orangewood Avenue Baptist Church, she has dedicated her life to equipping young people to live boldly for Christ in a world filled with challenges and distractions. JayLee’s ministry is marked by authenticity, energy, and a deep conviction that teenagers can—and must—be leaders in faith today, not just tomorrow.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from California Baptist University, where she developed both her academic foundation and her passion for youth ministry. With a heart that beats for the next generation, JayLee inspires her students to grow in faith, build strong community, and live out the gospel with courage. Her vision is rooted in the belief that when young people encounter Jesus, they not only find hope and direction for their own lives but also become catalysts for revival in their schools, families, and communities.

OUR BELIEFS
Orangewood Ave believes in the major tenets of the Baptist Faith and Message. We believe:
That the Holy Bible was divinely inspired by God, and all Scripture is true and trustworthy, and the revelation of God to Man.
That there is only one living God, the creator of all life and ruler of the universe. God is revealed to us in the Trinity as the Father God, the Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.
That Man is God’s Special Creation, made in his image as male and female, and given free will. We sinned, separating us from God, and are unable to atone for our sins through any work.
Salvation is a free gift of Jesus, and through His blood we can receive redemption for sin.
That election is God’s gracious purpose to regenerate, justify, sanctify, and glorify sinners, consistent with human free agency, displaying His sovereign goodness.
The fulfillment of God’s mission is to extend the Gospel globally through the local Christian Church.
Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water, symbolizing faith in Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection, and is a prerequisite for church membership and the Lord’s Supper.
Christians should observe a Sabbath as a day of rest and to commemorate Christ’s resurrection.
That Christians should pray and labor for the Kingdom’s coming, with full consummation awaiting Christ’s return.
That Jesus Christ will come again, the dead will be raised, and Christ will judge all men.
That God has given us a Great Commission. Every follower of Christ and church is duty-bound to make disciples of all nations.
Christianity promotes enlightenment and intelligence, with all wisdom found in Jesus Christ.
God has called us to be stewards of the blessings that he has provided to us, including our time, our talents, and our possessions.
That Christ’s people should cooperate effectively to further his Kingdom.
Christians must seek Christ's will in their lives and society, using methods rooted in individual regeneration by God's grace.
Christians should seek peace with all on righteous principles and work to end war, following Christ's teachings.
That God alone is Lord of the conscience, free from human doctrines contrary to His Word. That the Church and State should be separate, with the state protecting church freedom without favoring any denomination or restricting the Church’s ability to worship. That Christians owe loyal obedience to civil government, except where it contradicts God's will.
God has ordained the family as the foundational institution, composed of persons related by marriage, blood, or adoption. Marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, reflecting Christ's union with the church, providing companionship, sexual expression, and procreation. Husbands and wives, equal in worth, have distinct responsibilities, with children being a blessing to honor and obey their parents, guided by biblical truth.
THE SOUTHERN BABTIST CONVENTION (SBC)
The Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) is a body of like-minded local churches cooperating together to reach the world with the Good News of Jesus Christ. There are currently more than than fifty thousand Southern Baptist cooperating churches and church-type missions. Though as many as two hundred could be counted as “mega-churches,” the vast majority run less than two hundred in weekly worship. No two churches are alike; but there are certain commonalities that bind Southern Baptists together, regardless of race, ethnicity, socio-economic status, language, size, or location.
Southern Baptists are as varied and diverse as the cities, towns, neighborhoods, and rural communities where they live. Each Southern Baptist church is autonomous and unique; only when viewed together can one grasp the diversity that is the Southern Baptist Convention.
